Thomas Müller, Bayern Munich’s Rising-Star

thomas mueller Thomas Müller, Bayern Munichs Rising Star

“Es müllert wieder!” – This famous slogan is only known by older german football fans, especially for those in Western Germany. It´s a tribute to the best German striker ever named Gerd Müller. Müller played fifteen years for the Bavarian top-club FC Bayern Munich and is holding several scoring records. He scored 68 goals in 65 games for the German national-team and 365 goals in 427 Bundesliga-games.

This remarkable figures show the extraordinary skills and ability of scoring goals. Every supporter of Bayern Munich talks very pathetically about this incomparable talent, sure that such a kind of player will only appears a few times in a century.

But this summer the fans maybe will get the opportunity to experience the birth of Müller´s appropriate successor. It´s the twenty year old home-grown talent Thomas Müller, who is trying to follow into the footsteps of Gerd Müller. There is no relationship between the two strikers, but they have several things in common.

Thomas Müller started his professional career last season with several short appearances under the former Bayern Munich manager Jürgen Klinsmann. This season the new dutch manager Luis van Gaal gave Müller the opportunity to play instead of the injured top-strikers Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni. Müller took the chance and scored two goals in the 5-1 blow against Borussia Dortmund and a few days later he scored a double-score at his champions-League debut against Maccabi Haifa.

His skills and his scoring-ability are very reminiscent of Gerd Müller´s style. His kicking skills, his moves in the penalty-area are very similar to the Bavarian striker icon. In opposition to Gerd, Thomas Müller has the ability to occupy several positions in the offensive midfield because of his great vision.

Thomas Müller is now one of the new fan favourites in the Allianz Arena and he dismissed the former top-strikers like Luca Toni to the reserve-squad. A few days ago Joachim Löw, manager of the german national-team, said to a radio announcer, that he is exited about the up-and-coming talent Thomas Müller and that he considers nominating Müller for the upcoming world cup in south-africa.

Thomas Müller is on the best way to achieve iconic status throughout the German football-scene. It looks like that the fans will farm the famous slogan in the future out to either Müllers.

It’s really exciting to see all the young talent like Mueller that is coming out of Germany. After the doldroms (spelling?) of the mid 1990′s till 2000ish, German football has really taken off. The Bundesliga is lots of fun to watch, so much more now! I can’t remember the last time Germany had so many attacking talents to choose from for die Mannschaft. Now, if we could only find a partner for Mertesacker in central defence…

I’m not a Bayern fan at all, but I hope Mueller has a fantastic career, and won’t mind making a move to Leverkusen in the near future, lol!

I love great ball handlers and goal scorers and Thomas captured my heart this World Cup. I will be checking out Bayern now just to watch him play. I support The Netherlands but I was rooting for Germany just because the team was so beautiful to watch. I feel the team really missed Thomas in the semi-final match and lost their groove. Looking forward to 2014 to see this team again.

You’ll only have to wait until 2012! Thomas Mueller will star in the European Championships, don’t forget. I will be carrying this blog throughout the Bundesliga season, so you can keep up with Bayern Munich and Thomas Mueller that way as well!

Thomas Muller is impressive! I’ve only heard about him (seriously) in around April 2010 when Bayern was progressing well in Champions League. And in a short time frame of like..3 months, he has snatched a FIFA Golden Boot and defeated the likes of Sneijder and Villa. There is plenty of time available ahead of him unless the world is going to end tomorrow. I’m sure something big will come out him, maybe even bigger than Messi and Sneijder!

What else can he be ?? The unstoppable player…and the best one in the world!

Germany may dominate world football if their 2010 world cup team continues the current path of progression. However, they will have to find a solution to prevent a similar situation like what happened in that fateful semi-final against Spain. We need, not only talented players, but players that can also fight when the situation demands for a fight. We had the potential to beat Spain, but we never had the ball at our feet for long spells of the game. We certainly could match them in quality, but our quality could not manifest itself as long as we didn’t have the ball on our feet. So, I guess we need to work on our physical side in these two years before the next Euro’s. Otherwise, thanks lads for a beautiful four weeks in South Africa!!

Thomas Muller is just the total package Germany will definetly win either/both
the 2012 Euro and World Cup 2014 and its not just because of Muller!
Germany has just simply got some of the best young talent in the world right
now and that will be a part of it along with some experience (Lahm,
    Schweinsteiger,Klose,Neuer,Poldi), Jogi’s coaching, and determination!
    This is Germany’s time!
