    Nice analyzis. thanks a lot.

@5 I can’t help think that this self destructive streak is what FC Cologne has been made off over a long time now. While this cost them in the past and might just as well cost them again and again in the future, it could also be argued that a funkel-esque therapy as in the case of Frankfurt will not catapult you anywhere past low mediocrity and on top of that will earn you some bitter remarks of one Mr. Honigstein.

@7 Mese agree and I think having Daum is a big part of it too. Though he definatelly has his share of faults and weaknesses he does know his trade and he might just as well be the exact right man in the right place at Cologne at the moment.

Excellent analysis, I agree with most of it, especially the Radu and Pezzoni parts. I also think that playing alongside Petit is a major advantage for a young player like Pezzoni.
I also agree with Muh that Daum is a large part of our (yes, I am a Cologne fan…) success. He is basically a city saint and as such very hard to fire which gives the club some stability by default. Any other coach would probably have been fired somewhen during tha last season. Especially if he was from Switzerland.
I don’t agree, however, with the assessment of the fans, I think they are one of the most loyal supporters around. Look at the attendance figures in the second league, or the amount of support for the Daum and Podoski transfers…
