Very strong HSV last weekend. They have to play Wolfsburg though next week. Now that will be a game to watch =)

Ziani not too good last game, hoping for more soon. Also would be nice to see Berg play regularly. Petric has been a great joker before and could be brought into the game for either Berg/Guerrero second half every game.

I cant help but think that no matter who Bayern is buying they will not regain their prior dominant role in BL and that they will have a hard time adjusting to the new order.

Really interesting transfer moves this summer. I agree that Elia will be great. Overall, Hamburg did excellent. Ze Roberto alone is an unbelievable steal, add Berg,Rozenahl and Elia and you have a significant improvement compared to last year. The only problem is Labbadia, I don’t really if he is any good.
In general, the manager moves were also very interesting, Van Gaal, Labbadia, Heynckes at the top clubs, Skibbe, Soldo, Tuchel at the lower tier are all worth watching. Some really unexpected moves, too, Heynckes is what, 64? Compare that to Tuchel, he’s 35. We’ll see.

Really good round up by Andy, i agree, the WFPI is a show that is staple listening for any football fan. 90 mins is not long enough for the show, although last week there was a flurry of Serie A questions, i hope around the Winter Break period, there will be a flurry of Bundesliga questions.

I’m really interested to see Elia, that said he murdered Owomoyela last week, he looks really good, Derdiyok i have heard of and it’s great to see Andy rates him highly so one to watch for sure. Berg i think will take a season or so, but when he goes on a goal rush, he will plunder goals like Dzeko did in the second part of last season.

Any chance of getting Tim Vickery as well, to see how he rates Barrios and Zucullni.?

Great site, keep up the very good work.

I am indeed trying to contact Tim Vickery about those two plus a couple of other South Americans. Plus I have some questions about Geromel.

A real big fan of the World Football Phone-In programme myself. I had been listening to it for some time now. Just what I always look forward to each weekend, listening via podcast. Anyhow, it is really insightful on what Andy Brassell thinks of the new signings to the Bundesliga this season.

I remembered someone did called in and asked how will Obafemi Martins fare at Wolfsburg after his move from Newcastle. I think that was about it, apart from the Serie A questions.
