Khedira Announces Desire To Join Real Madrid

Khedira Could Be On His Way Out Of The Bun­desliga For Real Madrid.

Stuttgart and Ger­many mid­fielder Sami Khedira has today spo­ken of his dream to play for Span­ish giants Real Madrid. After Real Madrid man­ager Jose Mour­inho announced his inter­est in the young mid­fielder, trans­fer spec­u­la­tion sur­round­ing Khedira has been rife and ram­pant. Now, though, Khedira has come out and spo­ken of a poten­tial move to the Bernabeu.

“Of course, I’m think­ing about a trans­fer to Real Madrid. They’ve already con­firmed that they’re inter­ested in sign­ing me . Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and Jose Mour­inho is one of the most suc­cess­ful man­agers out there. He has always fas­ci­nated me and he plays the type of foot­ball I can iden­tify myself with. His tac­ti­cal plans are spot on, with a well organ­ised defence, quick counter-attacks and clin­i­cal fin­ish­ing. That’s the only way to be suc­cess­ful nowa­days. I wouldn’t have allowed my agent to con­tact me about inter­ested clubs if I wanted to stay at Stuttgart. Real Madrid are the only club in the world I’ve been con­sid­er­ing so far. How­ever, noth­ing has been decided yet. I will make a deci­sion about my future in the com­ing days.”

Khedira cer­tainly does seem to be seri­ously con­sid­er­ing a move out of the Bun­desliga this sum­mer. With the allure of tro­phies and the best man­ager in the world in the form of Jose Mour­inho, the prospect of a move to Real Madrid cer­tainly is hard to turn down. But, would a move out of Ger­many and to Real Madrid be ben­e­fi­cial to Khedira? With Las­sana Diarra, Fer­nando Gago and Xabi Alonso all play­ers who Sami Khedira will com­pete with for a place in the team, Khedira may be play­ing far less than he would be if he stayed at Stuttgart.

And, with Khedira being only 23 years old, his devel­op­ment as a player is still in progress. While he would learn quite a lot from being sur­rounded by so many world-class super­stars, he may also spend a lot of time on the bench if he doesn’t imme­di­ately set­tle into the team and the new sur­round­ings. Hav­ing spent all of his career so far with Stuttgart, a move to Spain and the very com­pet­i­tive Bern­abeu could be too big of a change for the young midfielder.
