1:0 win and biggest competitors all lost . First place and comfortable 4 points ahead of second place. Talk now starts about things not heard of in a looooong time... Everybody guess who it is.... ..... .........

Tada, Berlin of course =)
Union Berlin

They are actually heading 3rd league now. Believe it or not, Berlin is THE german football capital right now. Must be something in the water for sure...

Well u did predict them being the real deal, just a little off with the timing. Cicero didn´t even play yesterday but hes become very important for Hertha. Counting in that Pantelic was out too and Rodnei actually played his first BL minutes ever and eg Stein is not back to full strenghts again it´s even more amazing they actually did beat what amounts to no less then Bayerns best line up in a show off for first place.

By the way, what´s up with Klinsmann and Donovan? Did their kids go to the same school back in California or what? He substituted him for Toni twice now and with the later catching this ancle injury now he might just go where no Podolski has gone before, next to Klose as a regular starter...
All the press is focusing right now on the fact that Berlin-Hoeness got the better of Bayern-Hoeness for the first time in like a decade or so, maybe Klinsmann might just be spared the time in the pillory this time after all.

You great thing about having editing power is that I can go back and change my predictions :)

But here is what I said back in my preview

10th and hope Favre doesn't get fired

What to Expect: They are in the UEFA Cup through the Fair Play rule. I'd advise them to avoid red-cards again. This is a team that might be a year away from being the real deal, and if the management gives trainer Lucien Favre time to mold this very young team with a lot of potential, then it could pay dividends by next season. If they put undo pressure on him to deliver the goods, they will surely fire him as Hertha should run hot and cold as the kids gel as a unit. And all the hard work to get rid of the trash (such as Dejegah, Minero and da Prince) and bring in a new core, such as Cicero, Kaka, Domovchiyski, Goyko, Rodnei, Amine Chermiti and Marc Stein, will be for naught. Chermiti signed too late to make my best transfer list, but by all accounts the Tunisian Maradonna is lights-out and this 20 year old kid will make you want to watch Hertha this year.

'And yes, Klinsmann will now face the press for the second time this season as all the stories will be about him rather than Favre and Hertha.'
Same sentiments, DP.

Congrats to Hertha and their win, by the way. Hertha at the top...who will have thought that this will happen at the beginning the season?

I don't know, I am going to watch the match later and do a Set on the game.

But HBS has one of the most outstanding defenses in the league. And defense will win a title even in the attack minded Bundesliga. They have what it takes to win this, but will the pressure of now being on top get to them is the question to me. I completely agree about Drobny who has surpassed Adler and Enke as the best keeper in the league.

And yes, Klinsmann will now face the press for the second time this season as all the stories will be about him rather than Favre and Hertha.

As always, thanks for you input Muh.

There is not much to say about Hertha. My hometown is actually official partner city of Hertha Berlin but even there nobody actually knows anyone who thinks Hertha is a real team even now. But as I heard some commentator say today, this is all way past coincidence so lots of praise to Favre. And some to Drobny who is a huge factor in their great performance I think.
Bayern lost 2 out of 3 now after winterbreak. Ugly things happened after far less in Munich before...

Not convinced about Schalke dominating the game all that much. I think the corner statistic was like 13:3 for Bochum last time I heard someone count.

Wolfsburg played a great second half season last year, if they can come anything close to that this year they are still in the race for big things me thinks.
